Nancy is a student intern at LifeCare Centres who is specializing in the biopsychosocial treatment of adults and adolescents. Nancy’s own story has instilled within her a deep compassion for fellow journeyers and a desire to counsel and walk alongside those who are struggling.
Nancy is a life-long learner and will be obtaining her Master of Arts in Counselling Psychology from Yorkville University this year. She is also a Registered Nurse with over 20 years experience in mental health and comes to us with her Bachelor of Science in Nursing from Ryerson University and her Masters in Nursing from the University of Toronto. Nancy is registered with the Ontario Nurses Association and the College of Nurses in Ontario.
Nancy has a passion to bring her clients hope and healing because of her own journey of personal growth and healing. Her experience includes the treatment of mental health issues related to complex mental health disorders, as well as anxiety, depression, post partum depression and grief. She also has experience in caring for individuals struggling with substance abuse, as well as those who are recovering from abuse and unhealthy relationships.
Nancy’s goals include providing groups for women who are struggling with depression and post partum depression, as well as groups for individuals struggling with substance abuse, past abuse, or living in toxic relationships. Nancy has an incredible love for animals and one day hopes to incorporate animal assisted therapy as part of her treatment process with her clients.
Nancy brings a natural warmth, compassion, sense of humour, and down to earth approach to her care for her clients. She also brings maturity and wisdom honed through her own journey as well as years of caring for people. With her extensive health care background, she is able to bring a wholistic approach to her work with clients, including her in-depth knowledge of resources and healthcare supports within the community.
