Daniel Robertson – Masters of Arts, Registered Psychotherapist (M.A., R.P.)

Daniel Robertson is a graduate student from Yorkville University with a Masters in Counselling Psychology (M.A) background in Forensic Psychology (B.A Hons) and Victimology (Post-Graduate Certificate). He is actively working in the counselling field with a particular focus on young adults struggling with substance abuse, anxiety, depression, stress and relationship issues. Daniel has a passion to work with young people as he easily relates to this population and recognizes the complex society young people are facing.  He also works with couples and families in related areas of focus.

Daniel’s experience in law-enforcement allows him to bring a unique perspective and skill set  to the therapeutic setting including extensive insight into mental health, specifically depression, substance abuse, post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD) and suicide. In his work with clients, Daniel draws from theoretical approaches including cognitive behavioural therapy (CBT) and emotion-focused therapy (EFT). Daniel is recently married and together with his wife he is enjoying the challenges and rewards of parenting a golden-doodle as a first child. Their family values include self-care, relationships and enjoying all stages of life while enduring the “ups and downs”.
