Jackie is a certified Child and Youth Counselor, a Registered Psychotherapist in good standing with the College of Registered Psychotherapists of Ontario and a member in good standing with the OACCPP Mental Health Professionals. Jackie has extensive experience working with parents, children and youth dealing with various life experiences, personal, and familial issues. Jackie brings over 30 years of experience in adolescent mental health and child welfare, with focused work in mental illness, trauma, attachment and adoption. She is passionate about helping families become healthier and is blessed by how she continues to learn from each family she helps. As our resident “parenting expert”, she utilizes both her professional as well as her personal experience raising four boys to provide practical guidance and help to families in crisis. Jackie’s work with children/teens includes parents/attachment figures when appropriate.
Jackie also provides clinical case consultation and is a trained Adoption competent therapist and trainer for the ACO (Adoption Council Ontario). She is also professionally trained (Level 2) in Dyadic Developmental Psychotherapy (DDP) and is a parental coaching speaker at many workshops and seminars. She is very effective in providing down-to-earth strategies to parenting and adolescent mental health challenges. Her humorous and confident style gives people encouragement and hope that change and growth are possible.
Whether as a speaker, teaching a course, or one-on-one with clients, Jackie is effective in engaging others with her wonderful sense of humor that quickly puts people at ease. Jackie enjoys spending time with her husband and four boys.
