Leidy Villanueva

Leidy is a compassionate and empathetic person with a passion for helping people. She is a highly trained and proficient therapist with over 15 years of experience guiding individuals toward mental wellness and personal growth. Leidy is an internationally trained Psychologist from Colombia and a Registered Psychotherapist in Canada. Leidy is pursuing her Master of Psychology at the Adler Graduate Professional School in Toronto.

Leidy has worked with children, youth, adults, seniors, couples, and families, aiding their recovery. She has valuable experience working as a psychometrist, providing assessments for a variety of purposes and organizations. Leidy is proficient in evidence-based therapeutic techniques, including Person-Centred, Psychodynamic, Family Systems, CBT, Post-Traumatic Stress, DBT, and Brief Solution-Focused Therapy. She also applies Narrative, Adlerian Therapy, and Transactional Analysis depending on the individual’s needs. Leidy is committed to creating life-enhancing approaches to increase coping mechanisms in recovery and foster a safe and supportive environment where clients can explore their feelings, gain insight, and develop effective coping strategies.

Leidy is an active member of the following: the Ontario Association of Mental Health Professionals (OAMHP), the North American Transactional Analysis Association (NATAA), the North American Association of Adlerian Psychologists (NASAP), and a registered psychotherapist with the College of Registered Psychotherapists of Ontario (CRPO).

She loves spending time with her family and friends and enjoys dancing, wellness, and Mindfulness activities. Her first language is Spanish.
