Leona Blodgett

Leona uses authenticity, intuition and empathy to support clients in their journey towards achieving their therapeutic goals. She modifies her therapeutic approach and interventions to meet client’s needs and works to ensure that the client’s voice stays at the center of the therapeutic process. Some of the main theories Leona draws from are Narrative Therapy, Solution-Focused Therapy, Mindfulness, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy.
Leona has 15 years of experience in the social services sector. During this time, she enjoyed working with a diverse clientele including people with dual diagnosis and neurodivergence. She also supported individuals in the Deaf community and worked as a Rehabilitation Support Worker for people with Acquired Brain-Injury. Some of her responsibilities included; assisting people in their homes and communities, collaborating with supported individual’s family members, medical professionals and community supports and advocating for individuals and families to access community services.
Leona practices from an anti-oppressive stance and works to create a safe space where clients can explore their culture, ethnicity, sexuality, spiritual beliefs and life experiences while feeling heard, valued and accepted. She is passionate about empowering clients towards personal growth as they work through their challenges with relationships, identity, trauma, grief, mental-health and life transitions. While working with children, Leona integrates creative expression and play to engage them in the healing process.
To recharge, Leona enjoys spending time with her wonderful husband and three beautiful children out in nature. She also enjoys using creativity in her daily life with her kids through play, art and music.
