
Steven Sheehan
Steven brings an enthusiastic, energetic, joyful eagerness to his work and studies. He is a compassionate and thoughtful emerging clinician who is dedicated to supporting individuals through assessment, understanding, and meaningful therapeutic connections. Steven is passionate about integrating evidence-based practice with empathy and collaboration to help clients better understand themselves and navigate life’s challenges. Before joining LifeCare Centres, Steven has worked as a music therapist and an addictions counsellor, where he shaped his holistic and compassionate approach to mental health care.
Steven completed his Honours Bachelor of Science in Psychology at Trent University and completed the Post Graduate Program in Addictions and Mental Health at Durham College. He is a certified Behaviour Practitioner and is currently completing his Masters in Clinical Psychology at Adler Professional Graduate School in Toronto.
His interests lie in psychological assessment, mental health research, and psychotherapy, with particular attention to how social relationships, emotional well-being, and behavioural patterns affect mental health. Steven values a client-centred and collaborative approach, believing that meaningful change begins with understanding each person’s unique experiences, strengths, and goals. Steven’s academic and practical training have equipped him with skills in psychological assessment, research, and therapeutic communication. His work as a psychometrist has provided opportunities to develop strong assessment, interpersonal, and clinical skills while creating a supportive and respectful environment for clients.
Outside of his professional and academic pursuits, Steven enjoys staying active, cooking, gaming, and spending time with friends and family. He believes that maintaining meaningful relationships, personal interests, and balance is an important part of overall well-being.
