Merron Tegene

Intern Therapist

Merron is a warm and compassionate therapist intern committed to creating a supportive environment that empowers clients. She holds a Bachelor of Science in Mental Health Studies from the University of Toronto Scarborough and is currently completing her Master's degree in Counselling Psychology at Yorkville University.

Merron approaches therapy with an intersectional and anti-oppressive lens, honoring the unique identities and experiences that shape each client’s journey. She draws from Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Solution-Focused Brief Therapy (SFBT), and Narrative Therapy in her work. Enthusiastic about working with individuals across the lifespan, she supports clients navigating stress, burnout, perfectionism, emotional regulation, and identity development. She is especially passionate about guiding individuals to strengthening their self-advocacy and resilience through strengths-based practices.

As a psychometrist and an Applied Behaviour Analysis (ABA) therapist, Merron has extensive experience working with children, adolescents, and adults living with autism, ADHD, anxiety, depression, and learning disabilities. These experiences have shaped Merron’s perspective on counselling, deepening her commitment to equitable and inclusive care while reinforcing her belief in everyone's capacity to grow and thrive.

In her leisure time, Merron enjoys visiting cafes, going on long walks, and spending time with her family and friends.
