Brittany is passionate about helping others overcome obstacles to gain insight and strategies to improve their daily lived experience. She strives to provide her clients with a safe, genuine, and supportive environment to assist with alleviating suffering both personally and within their relationships. She believes in each person she works with and approaches client care with a non-judgmental and empowering approach. Brittany believes that people are doing the very best they can at any given moment, while at the same time she is willing to challenge and encourage those she works with to look deeper to find and create change. Brittany gently guides and encourages clients to explore aspects of their past and current experiences, allowing clients to arrive at new understandings and transformative change in thought and emotion. She is passionate about utilizing her client’s strengths and resources to enable them towards a more free and fully lived life in accordance with their needs, values and goals.
Brittany is skilled in assisting children, adolescents, adults, and families with a wide variety of mental health concerns as well as the daily stressors and challenges that life brings. Brittany practices from a person-centred, trauma-informed, and integrative approach of Emotion-Focused and Narrative therapies. Brittany is able to offer Cognitive Behavioural Therapy and skills based training as fitting with client’s treatment goals. Brittany received her Master’s Degree in Counselling Psychology from McGill University. She is a Registered Psychotherapist in good standing with the CRPO, and a Canadian Certified Counsellor with the CCPA. Brittany brings a variety of experience from her work in the non-profit sector serving youth and their families, as well as years of experience in psychology and mental health research and volunteer services. Brittany enjoys spending quality time with her husband, family, and friends. She loves to find the adventure in both the big and small experiences of life, to travel, eat well, and relax with a good book or movie.
